Secret service faces questions over LA Incident amid assassination attempt concerns

Secret service responds to alleged security lapse in Los Angeles amid Trump Assassination attempt scrutiny

Recent reports indicate a serious security incident involving former President Barack Obama in Los Angeles. An armed person reportedly approached Obama’s SUV while he was inside, raising concerns about the effectiveness of his security detail. The U.S. Secret Service responded to these claims, stating that at no time were any protectees in the vehicle while the individual was in the vicinity. They labeled the allegations made by an unnamed guard as “inaccurate” and clarified that the photo circulating was taken after the incident.

However, an eyewitness provided a different account. The individual claimed that the armed guard came very close to Obama, who was sitting in the backseat of his SUV and using a laptop. The eyewitness described feeling panicked upon realizing the guard was armed and quickly moved away from the vehicle.

Concerns about security lapses

The alleged incident took place outside a restaurant called Mother Wolf in a Hollywood alley. According to the security guard involved, he saw Obama’s vehicle parked and noticed the presence of two Secret Service agents nearby. He was unaware that Obama was inside until he got closer. After moving away from the SUV, he greeted the agents, who seemed surprised to see him.

The guard labeled the situation a “security lapse,” noting that there was no one watching the back of the SUV or covering the stairwell where the armed man emerged. He suggested that the Secret Service agents might have felt embarrassed by the incident.

This event comes amid growing scrutiny of the Secret Service, especially following two recent assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump. Additionally, there are reports of a Secret Service agent being accused of sexually harassing a member of Vice President Kamala Harris's staff during a recent trip, further raising concerns about the agency’s conduct.
